It’s been a wonderful journey from our humble independent video game store beginning to our full-fledged hobby shop standing, and we couldn’t have come as far without our incredible community of gamers, analog and digital alike. Over the past 4 years, our shop has grown into a place to play your favorite games and meet like-minded folks who share your passion. It hasn’t always been easy, but we’ve learned to listen to our critics and fans, now certain that we have an understanding of what our community needs. With that in mind, we’d like to take a moment to outline our Open Table policy and what that means for your tabletop gaming.

Most of you know that we host a plethora of events, from Magic the Gathering to Warhammer 40K; in fact, that’s probably how you found out about us. At an average of 24 events per week, we’ve crafted our event schedule to hit every major game category that has an active audience, organized or not. While that is great for folks who play some of the most popular (and established) games at the moment, it’s the smaller games that typically struggle to find a home. As an FLGS (Friendly Local Game Store), there is an unspoken expectation from the gaming community at-large to support to every kind of game out there, and, aside from carrying a deep catalog of titles, the least we can do is offer up our space as place to play.

Up until now, if you needed a place to play, you could just walk in and find a table. As long as we didn’t need it, you could use a table to play whatever you like. With our newly-established Open Table policy, that isn’t necessarily changing, but we are delineating when tables are available and when you might want to check before making the trek. Because we’ve become a popular place to play (thanks, folks!), space has become limited so here’s what you need to know:

Next-Gen Games’ Open Table Policy

Using our space to play is free, on a first-come, first-served basis.*

  • Monday – Friday: All tables available 11AM to 6PM / Call for availability after 6PM.
  • Saturday: Call for availability.
  • Sunday:  Call for availability.

* The Open Table policy is suspended on days when we host premier events or when we rent out our space. Check our event schedule to avoid potential heartache.

That’s basically it, folks. Our staff will be as accommodating as possible, all we ask is that you check in with us during our busier moments, which is evenings and weekends. If you didn’t realize that we offered open tables before, we hope that you’ll take advantage of our clean, bright space and come spend your time here gaming with us. If you still have questions or concerns, feel free to email us at info@nextgenvideogames.com with your comments. See you tableside!
